JPG Close ups -

The following pics are enlargements of 75 x 75 pixel squares, copied out of the full size images. They have been enlarged by a factor of 2.66 to make them 200 pixels square, and then all saved at JPG compression of 9:1. Subsequent JPG saves (JPG saves of JPG's !) are not actually desirable, so degredation may be slightly enhanced. Better to always if possible have a .BMP to work from.

Notice now how easy it is to see the disturbance through over compression! Colors ''bleed'' away from edges, and the ''mottling'' and ghosting type effects are well apparent. This is NOT recoverable.
